Just getting back up from the pub and a little bit of a slower day, but not too much. Sore from yesterday we hung around the hotel a bit longer. We left around 10 to find the tube right next to our hotel was out of service. We hopped on a bus going in the general direction of of Buckingham Palace. We rode the bus until we heard the familiar Baker Street stop announced and got off and jumped on another line to the palace. We got off at Green Park, a huge park next to the palace. We went and saw the palace, took pictures and continued on to the Wellington Arch and further on to Hyde Park where to got some frozen whip. We hopped back on the tube and went to the London Museum of Natural History and an art museum where we got to see some pretty amazing things. Had lunch at a pub which marked the first time we actually ate some British food on our trip. From there we came back to get some rest for our trip into Belgium tomorrow.
Notes for the day:
We are now proficient in London public transportation.
All the movies advertised here are at least a year old.
Streetlights blink yellow before they turn green again.
Squirrels are just as cute in London.
Jessica blinks in every picture.

ReplyDeleteHow do you travel to Belguim? Plane, ferry? Looks like you guys are having a great time. What kind of food have you been eating if not British? I know London has a wide variety of international restaurants, Mickie D's, Taco Bell etc.
ReplyDeleteBelgium produces over 500 varieties of beer. The biggest brewer in the world by volume is Anheuser-Busch InBev, based in Belgium. Don't forget to eat some Belgium waffles!! Love, Aunt Neeners :)
ReplyDeleteWe took the bullet train. We had some really good Indian food in London. First day we had fish and chips, so I guess that is Brittish, but it was in a touristy area so I didnt think we were getting the best there. It was good though. I guess we didnt really have lunch that day, eating has taken a back seat when we are running through town. The next day we just had some sandwiches for lunch and the Indian food for dinner. There were lots of nice pubs we wanted to eat at but they are packed in the center of London since everyone is eating and drinking beer on their lunch breaks. But we would pop in and out of places for a beer every so often and drink outside standing in the street with all the locals. The last day we had some good food. We ate at a pub where I (Jacob) had a thai chicken pie with mash and Jessica had a pepper pork sausage with mash and some sweet sauteed onions. For dinner we ate near our B&B and I had duck in puff pastry and Jessica had really good pesto mushroom pasta.
ReplyDeleteAnd Janeen, why do you think we came to Belgium! The beer here is very good. We are trying to hunt down a good fry place as well.
Good way to keep from blinking is to have Jessica close her eyes, count to three and open eyes on three-- on three, snap the picture! Tada! You can thank Japanese TV for that gem!
